RATES

Square Inch Price

I charge 3 cents per square inch for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .03 = $144.

My minimum quilting charge is $40. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $40 minimum.

BATTING

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price of the edge to edge quilting.

I charge for batting by the square inch so you only pay for what you need, except in the case of orders for special batting.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt your batting needs to be 4 inches bigger on all sides.  So, I would cut the batting of your choice at the size of 68" x 88" which equals 5984 square inches.  5984 sq. in. x 0.006 = $35.09 batting charge.

I stock the following battings in my studio.

  • Quilters Dream 100% Cotton Select (mid-loft) at 0.006 cents per square inch

  • Quilters Dream 80% cotton/20% polyester blend at 0.006 cents per square inch

  • Hobbs Tuscany 80% cotton/20% wool blend at 0.007 cents per square inch

  • Quilters Dream 100% polyester Select at 0.005 cents per square inch

I can also special order other Quilters Dream options such as bamboo, silk/bamboo blend, or 100% wool.

THREAD

I stock and use a variety of quilting threads.

  • Omni - Polyester 40 Wt. Thread

  • So Fine - 3 Filament Polyester 50 Wt. Thread (matte finish)

  • Glide - Trilobal Technology Polyester 40 Wt. Thread (some sheen)

  • Premo Soft - Polyester Core-Spun 50 Wt. Thread (cotton like finish)

I don't charge any extra fees for thread use as it's included in your square inch price.

My personal design style is to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt.  But this is YOUR quilt!  Let me know if you have a preference on thread color or want to discuss the best color options for your quilt.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I'm not a professional photographer but I do my best to take "nice" photos with my "good" camera!  Upon completion of the quilting, I will take photos of your quilt in my studio and then text/email you those images to use however you would like. I'd just ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.

SHIPPING

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in South Carolina, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sealed waterproof sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped, adequately insured, and clearly labeled.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail, using the most economical option possible. Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

If you live in Upstate South Carolina, you can email, text, or call (leave a voicemail) and we can arrange for a free of charge, convenient drop-off location.

OTHER COSTS

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price.  South Carolina is a destination-based sales tax state.  This means e-commerce sellers are required to collect the sales tax rate for goods and services of the buyer's ship-to address.
